Weight control and Weight Loss

When we eat, the food is used, stored or discarded. The body stores fuel, or calories, as fat. The more fuel we consume, and the less of it we use, then the more of it that is stored in the body in the form of fat. The human body is not like a car’s gas tank that will overflow when full. Our bodies accept all the calories that we put into them, and store those which we do not use.

Himalaya Ayurvedic Pain Massage Oil (120 ml)

For example, if you eat food that has a value of 3,000 calories and use only 2600 of them in your activity, then the remaining 400 calories are stored in the body. Every time you accumulate about 4000 of these calories you will notice an extra pound of weight on the scales.

The major purpose of weight control is to reduce the amount of fat on the body and to increase the amount of muscle. It is, in reality, a program of fat control rather than weight control. This control can be exerted only by coupling a sensible dietary program with a regular, balanced program of exercise. This is where Rapid Weight Loss by Numbers can work remarkably.

Research has shown clearly that the most effective way of taking off weight and keeping it off is through a program which combines exercise and diet. Rapid weight loss by numbers Rapid Weight Loss by Numbers is just the right program.

When you exercise you burn calories. Energy used in this way will result in muscle development. As muscle is slightly heavier than fat, you may very well notice an increase in your weight rather than a reduction. However, it must be stressed that this muscle weight is useful weight and will improve the way you look and feel.

Diet

As a rule you can avoid the need for resorting to a strict reduction of food intake by the constant use of strict reduction of food intake by the constant use of sensible dietary habits. In the normal individual, fat is added to the body very slowly. It may be several weeks or even months before you notice this gradual accumulation. You cannot hope to take this fat off and keep it off without making suitable change in eating and exercise habits.

A slight change in diet alongwith exercise can take off and keep off, several pounds of excess fat over a period of time. For example, if you eat bread with your meals, eat one slice less; add a little less sugar, or none at all to your tea or coffee. The calories so avoided each day add up to several thousand in a few months and may be the difference between the way you look and feel and the way you would like to look and feel. By the time you have arrived at the condition you desire your habits will have been changed enough so that you will probably not slip back into the old ones. But a special program like Rapid Weight Loss by Numbers can give real lasting results.
What you can do about fitness

The average woman is engaged in one of three activities daily – school, employment, or housework. None of these provides the balanced activity for the body that is desirable for good physical fitness. Housework, for example, though it may involve a good deal of hard physical labour, does not take into account the flexibility of the muscles, nor does it work all the muscles of the body. Day after day you do the same things. The muscles that work get plenty of exercise; the other get little or none.

The same facts that are true of housework also hold true for most sports. Sports make specific contributions to fitness but do not condition the whole body. Most people taking part in a recreation sport do not pursue it vigorously enough to develop adequate levels or fitness. Before they become completely effective, even those sports which can produce all round fitness require more skill than the average person possesses and more time than the average person can devote to them.

No matter what you do in your daily life you probably need a good, balanced program of exercise which will enable you to become the person you want to be. That is why Rapid Weight Loss by Numbers has been specially designed to give you results and keep the extra weight off permanently.

Cause of Obesity - Gut bacteria could be responsible

There is a possibility that gut germs make people obese. New research has disclosed that obesity could depend on the levels of bacteria in the stomach. This raises the possibility of new methods of treatment for obesity unlike the usual regimen of exercise and strict diet. Another reason could be more of one bacteria and less of another.

It was observed in experiments with mice that obese men and mice had lower level of bacterial Bacteroidetes and more of a bacteria called Firmicutes. The research did not specifically indicate whether obese people grow more Firmicutes or simply having more of these bacteria makes them fat.

Scientists are now exploring the possibility of dealing with obesity by changing the type of bacteria in the stomach and intestines. It appears that research is leading to findings that gut bacteria could be eventually be responsible for a lot of things from a person's height to health problems like diabetes and asthma.

It is reported that humans are born germ free, but within days the microbes come from goods ingested by infants either from breast milk or formula foods.

MORE HEALTH INFORMATION:
BREAST CANCER - The risks for women By Martin Pereira

Breast cancer afflicts many women the world over. Regular and careful self-examination for lumps in the breast ought to be done for early detection and treatment.

Breast cancer is a scourge for women the world over. Breast cancer is common both in developed and developing countries. It usually occurs between the ages of 42 to 52 years. It is known to affect women at earlier ages also.

Women experience much fear and embarrassment by this form of cancer. They need a lot of emotional support from the husband and close family members especially women in the family. Little is known about the exact cause of breast cancer. However, there are certain risk factors which can trigger the disease. A few risk factors are heredity of breast cancer in the family, fibrocystic breast disease, consumption of oestrogens, exposure to ionizing radiation or first pregnancy at a late age.

The symptom of breast cancer manifests itself as a lump or nodule in the breast. The growing lump attachs itself to the skin of the breast. When the disease progresses the lymph nodes get enlarged and can be palpated in the axilla on the side of the lump. For early detection of breast cancer, women should examine their breasts for lumps every month. If lumps are detected she should inform her physician. The physician should refer the case to a specialist. There a few alarm signals for breast cancer. A lump or nodule in the breast, alteration in the size or retraction or puckering of the nipple, rash on breast or nipple and difference in size or shape of breasts. Examination by a specialist every six months to a year is also recommended.

Aspiration biopsy can detect whether the lump in the breast is cancerous or not. As with other cancers, the treatment can be radiation, chemotherapy or surgery. One more alternative is removal of ovaries or adrenal glands. This is known to shrink the cancer in the breast. If anti-hormone drugs are successful, then removal of ovaries or adrenal glands can be avoided. But anti-hormone treatment sometimes is not always effective. The use of anti-hormone treatment can be determined by prior testing on the patient. Surgery for removal of the whole breast is known as radical mastectomy. This procedure is recommended if the cancer is detected early and recurrence can be eliminated.

An investigation with women who suffered from breast cancer gives some revealing insights about the possible cause. One woman revealed that she was to leave for work abroad when she found she was pregnant. She realized that the pregnancy would foul up her plans to work abroad. So she tried a natural method to abort the baby. Little did she realize, natural method or not, her body was protesting.

The fact is a woman's body gets geared for delivery from conception. But woman comes to know the fact of pregnancy somewhat later perhaps after a month. By then the body has advanced in its development functions. So when she aborts the baby naturally or medically assisted, it becomes a discontinued pregnancy. However, the same care as after delivery is usually not taken by them. The woman or her physician is oblivious to the harm done when the body is deprived of giving birth in mid-pregnancy. Same is the case with miscarriages.

The body tends to continue to develop even when the baby is gone. Development of milk in the breast specially does continue. With no baby to consume the mother's milk, it tends to lump in the breast. If the body cannot disperse these lumps naturally then these lumps can turn harmful. In most cases the lumps detected are benign and can be safely removed surgically.

Unfortunately, in some cases the lumps can turn cancerous. But the woman or the physician will usually not relate it to the aborted pregnancy or miscarriage. This is often because the cancer occurs years later. So the case of miscarriage or abortion will be forgotten and the relation will escape their notice. After an abortion or miscarriage, the body develops like delivery has taken place but care is ignored. This ultimately causes problems in later years possibly causing breast cancer.

Some women discontinue breast feeding early after the child is born. It may be due to career or other compulsions. After many years of study, eminent doctors recommend that women should breast feed their babies as far as possible and as long as possible. Breast feeding will help have healthier babies as well as help women avoid breast cancer. Breast feeding is also advantageous for women, because it helps breasts and womb to return to their original size and position. It is a natural process related to breast feeding.

A second woman related her trauma. Her first baby refused breast feeding after a few months and preferred bottle milk. The woman developed painful lumps in her breasts and armpits as her breasts were gorged with milk. Over a period of time these lumps didn't go away. To make matters worse she had an abortion because of a quick pregnancy soon after the first child was born. She was very unhappy about this abortion and repented for it. Six years later God blessed her with a second child. This child breast fed normally until more than three years of age. The good thing about it was the lumps in her breast disappeared and now she is quite normal.

To continue with the narrative of the first woman she had a second pregnancy and once again she persisted in her error. She had heard chicken is very heaty and can help abort the baby. So she began consuming chicken in large quantities to induce abortion. The sad thing is the baby did not abort, but was suffering from jaundice at birth. Today that child is handicapped and a source of much suffering for that family. To make matters worse, later she later suffered from breast cancer and one breast was removed surgically. She tells of the pain she suffered for the treatment of cancer. Besides surgery, she had to undergo chemo therapy. She had to take six chemo therapy drug injections in her veins which were extremely painful. Even after treatment if the breast cancer reappears then it is difficult to cure. But an older patient may live for her lifetime.

Women have a lesson to learn here. The decision they take regarding abortion induced or medically assisted in early years can hurt them in later years. It is because the body does not take kindly to the decision. Women can avoid much suffering by listening to their body and their conscience. Secondly women should always take care to detect any lumps in the breast by regular self-examination. If cancer does occur they can act quickly to get effective treatment and surgery to overcome the disease.

BEAUTY, FASHION & SKIN CARE

Skin care is an important part of our overall health care. Our beauty depends very much on our skin. A healthy skin denotes a healthy body. Fashion and style goes well with a healthy skin.

Skin rashes are generally a symptom of internal or external causes. Internal causes could be improper diet, family heredity or due to some disease or infection. External causes could be due to skin sensitivity to clothes of certain fabrics, soap or effects of sun, soil or air.

Common skin rashes are owing to contact eczema, atopic eczema, psoriasis, measles, chicken pox, heat rash, impetigo, scabies, ringworm, thrush, scabies and nappy rash. Most minor skin rashes get better with some simple self care and treatment. But it is advisable to see your doctor if the condition persists for more than three days. Most skin rashes can be effectively treated by your doctor. Specialist skin doctors can quickly diagnose and identify the cause of the skin rash. Then he will suggest an appropriate treatment to stop the symptoms like swelling, redness and itch. The treatment will also remove the underlying causes such as bacterial or fungal infection. Whatever the reason it is important to avoid scratching a rash as this can make it worse and leave a scar.

In cases of impetigo, chicken pox, measles and german measles, contacting your doctor is very important as soon as possible, due to infectiousness, skin rashes and fever. Appropriate diet must followed also. In cases of eczema, it is helpful to avoid use of soap. Instead use prescribed creams and contact your dcotr if the condition doesn't improve. For psoriasis treatment may or may not cause improvement as some medicines may make the condition worse. Ringworm and thrush which are fungal infections need appropriate treatment from your doctor. Scabies is caused by tiny insect type mites causing itching all over the body and needs also needs effective medication.

Heat rash is due to heat and dust which blocks the sweat glands. It gives rise to small itchy, tiny red or pink blisters. If affected, one must have a cool shower and avoid heat till the problem subsides. Use of prickly heat powder is also recommended for cooling the skin. Nappy rash is normally due to irritation of skin in the private parts. This may be caused by urine, bowel motions or some chemicals. Its symptoms are mild burnlike rash which appears red, slightly rough and scaly. This needs appropriate treatment from a doctor to cure the condition.

Immunisation is important for children against measles and german measles (rubella). Try and identify the cause of skin rashes and decide upon appropriate skin care. It is important to avoid too much sun for sun sensitive skin. If skin rash is due to external causes then one must avoid clothes, cosmetics or detergents which are skin irritants. Clothes which are not dye-fast or synthetic fabrics should be avoided.

In general for a sensitive skin, we must wear cotton lined rubber or vinyl gloves when doing housework, washing clothes etc. Our under garments should preferably be of cotton fabric as they are in contact with skin. If detergent in washed clothes is found to be a cause of itching or skin rash, use a bland soap and wash and rinse the clothes thoroughly. Use of a barrier cream will also be helpful if contact with water and solvents causes skin rashes. If itching or rashes are caused by soap, try bathing try with a mild soap or soap substitutes or use skin moisturiser instead of soap.
